Daily flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg are available from Heathrow through British Airways, with prices starting at around £115 for economy classes. Services are also available through Aeroflot Russian International Airlines (SU), Air France, Australian Airlines, Czech Airlines, El Al, Finnair, Lufthansa and SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Approximate flight times from London to Moscow or St Petersburg are three hours and forty-five minutes. Moscow International Airport – Sheremetyevo – lies 35km northwest of the city, but travel links are excellent, offering a wealth of choice. Taxis are available from the airport, and a 30-40 minute ride to the city centre would cost around $10-15. ‘Autoline’ fixed route taxis and buses are also available, as well as express coaches that depart every 20 minutes between the hours of 0530 and 0030. An express train service also operates, with trains leaving every 30 minutes. St. Petersburg airport – Pulkovo – lies 17km from the city, and again travel links are excellent, offering taxi rides at around $10 and buses every ten minutes between the hours of 0700 and 2000.
